Transfer Microsoft MFA to a new phone
Got a new phone? – Follow below steps to register multi-factor authentication (MFA) for your new phone and delete the MFA for your previous phone.
Go to My Sign-Ins | Security Info | Microsoft.com (You should be automatically logged in with your Trafford account.)
Select the Add Sign-in Method button
Select the Authenticator app option and click Add
install the Microsoft Authenticator Application on your new phone. For Android visit google play store for iPhone visit Apple App Store.Download and install the app
Important: If you're not currently on your mobile device, you can still get the Authenticator app if you send yourself a download link Microsoft Mobile Phone Authenticator App | Microsoft Security from the Authenticator app page.
Once you have successfully installed the Microsoft Authenticator App click Next
Open the Microsoft Authenticator App on your new phone and click on the plus (+) icon to add an account (this step may vary from phone to phone but basically add an account).
if prompted allow notifications and select Work or School account from the options listed, select Next
Use your new phone to scan the QR code then select Next
On your new phone wait for message “account added successfully” then select next .
On your new phone select to approve sign in when prompted.
Select Next on the keep your account secure page.
You should now see two Microsoft Authenticators on the list. Delete the previous Microsoft Authentication.
