SourceOne – Restore Historical Shortcuts
*PLEASE NOTE - AMENDING THE START TIME ON EXISTING ACTIVITIES DOESN'T WORK - A NEW ACTIVITY IS REQUIRED FOR EACH RESTORE BATCH - THE PREVIOUS ACTIVITY CAN BE DELETED*
Log onto TCINFSOM01 using S1Service Account
Run “EMC SourceOne Email Management Console” from desktop
Navigate to “Organizational Policies” in the left hand menu
You will see five Organizational Policies for various tasks, these are just containers for the activities.
Select the “Restore” Organizational Policy and choose “New Activity” from the right hand menu

This will open the “New Activity” wizard
For Activity Type, Choose “Restore Shortcuts – Historical &User Directed Archive” – click next

On the “Select Data Sources” page, click the “choose by” drop down and select “Server Hierarchy”
Tick only the database you wish to recover the shortcuts for (i.e. EXCHDB_EOLMIG), leave “Primary Mailbox” ticked, do not tick “Personal Archive Mailbox” – Click next

Select the folders you wish to restore the shortcuts for (i.e. Inbox and Sent Items) – Click Next

Choose the period you wish to recover the shortcuts from – i.e. “Dated After 01/01/2020” – Click next

Select when you want the activity to commence, i.e. “As soon as possible”
Edit the duration to “Run to completion” – Click Next

Select which workers will carry out the task (All is fine) – click next
Create a name for the task I.E. EOLMIG Restore 20230526 and ensure “enable detailed logging” is ticked – Click next
Check the summary and click finish to complete the wizard.

The activity will be displayed under Organizational Policies and once running will be set to read only.
To check the status of the job, go to Operations/ Job Management on the left hand menu

To view the logs for the job, navigate to \\SOFILE01\logs
